Reproductive Health Resources
Mission Statement
Reproductive Health Resources (RHR) is a community-based organization located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan working to remove financial barriers to safe, dignified, affordable reproductive healthcare.
What RHR Does
Funds and supports reproductive healthcare services provided through local clinical partners in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
Ensures medication abortion care on a sliding fee scale for individuals who cannot afford full costs.
Provides direct financial support so individuals can access safe and prompt clinical care.
Why RHR Exists
Planned Parenthood of Michigan closed its Marquette clinic in 2025.
This closure created a 500+ mile care gap across the Upper Peninsula and northern Wisconsin, with no abortion care available from Traverse City to Duluth.
Virtual options are offered by Planned Parenthood, but are not always accessible due to limited internet access, financial constraints, and the need for in-person counseling or support. Some people may also need additional testing, like ultrasound or lab work before proceeding.
Before closing, Planned Parenthood of Marquette provided 150 in-clinic abortions in 2024—demonstrating the ongoing need for local services.
Impact So Far
Since launching in July 2025, RHR has already supported:
20 individuals accessing medical abortion services.
Each individual, on average:
Uses $170 of RHR support toward a $450 clinical bill.
By the end of this year, RHR projects:
50+ people supported with access to safe, affordable abortion care.
Why Your Support Matters
RHR is rooted in the Upper Peninsula. We exist because our community deserves safe, affordable, and dignified reproductive healthcare without traveling hundreds of miles.
Without RHR, community members in the Upper Peninsula face extreme travel burdens, financial strain, and loss of timely care.
Every $170 donation ensures another individual can access safe, dignified abortion care in their own community.
RHR has plans for future expansion of programming, to include birth control & long-acting contraceptives, gender-affirming care, sexually-transmitted infection testing, and more.
